Documentation to assist with the setup and configuration of the Halo Service Desk platform
Google Calendar Integration
You must be running NHServer version 13.18.01 or above to use this integration. Please speak to a member of the Halo support team to arrange this upgrade.
To enable the Google Calendar integration in Halo, go to Configuration > Integrations > Communications, and enable the module. Once the module has been enabled, click the menu icon for the module to begin configuring it.
Connect to Google
You must choose a designated Google account to connect to your Halo instance. This designated account must have read and modify access to the Google calendar associated with each technicians email address. For example, if you would like to sync your technician John Smith's calendar, and his email address associated with his technician account in Halo is email@example.com, then the designated account must have read and modify permissions for the google calendar associated with firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once you have decided which account to connect, clicking connect now will redirect you to the Google login screen where you can login to the chosen account. Once completed, you will be redirected back to the Google Calendar module in Halo, where some new options will be available.
During the authorization process, you will notice that our app is currently listed as unverified. Please bare with us whilst we work with Google to verify the app and remove this screen from the authorization process.
Once connected, your account email will be displayed at the top of the setup screen. You can disconnect at any time from Halo using the disconnect account button.
Accessing Technician Calendars
Use the check calendars option to confirm which of your technicians calendars are accessible via your connected account.
When clicked, a list of all technicians calendars that are accessible will be displayed. If you cannot access any technician calendars, you will be notified of this.
Appointment updates are synced via the NHServer application. If you are a cloud customer, this will have already been configured for you automatically. If you have your own on premise version of Halo, please contact the Halo support team for assistance enabling the appointment sync in NHServer. You must be using NHServer version 13.18.01 or above for this feature to work.
